Staying with us
Check-in is from 12 noon. Check-out is by 11am.
Early check-in may be possible depending on availability — email us in advance and we'll do our best. Late check-out is available subject to availability, please ask reception on arrival.
Each bell tent comes with a double or twin bed setup, proper bedding and pillows, a rug, table and chairs inside, and a fire pit and outdoor seating outside.
Access to the shared glamping shower and toilet block is included. You'll need to bring your own towels and any personal items. Bell tents sleep up to 4 people.
Our timber glamping pods include a double bed with bedding, a private WC (toilet and handwash), outdoor seating and table, and a dedicated fire pit. Access to the main shower block is also included.
Pods sleep 2 people as standard — contact us if you need to discuss additional sleeping arrangements. Dogs are not permitted in the pods.
We welcome groups, but ask that groups of 10 or more contact us before booking so we can confirm availability and make sure we can accommodate everyone well.
We don't host large single-group events, stag or hen parties. Families, multi-family groups and groups of friends are all welcome.
Coast and Castles is open seasonally, broadly from Easter through to the end of October. Exact opening dates vary slightly each year.
Check the booking calendar on Pitchup for live availability, or email us if you're planning a trip outside the main season and want to check.
On site
Yes. Camp fires and BBQs are welcome across the site. Fires must be kept off the grass — use a fire pit (available to hire on site) or a raised BBQ. We sell fire logs on site.
Open fires must be supervised at all times and extinguished by midnight. No fires in dry or high wind conditions.
Our electric hook-ups are 6amp and powered by our off-grid solar-hybrid system. They're suitable for charging leisure batteries, running a fridge, lighting, phone charging and standard camping appliances.
High-power household appliances — air fryers, full-size kettles, electric heaters, hair dryers — are not suitable and may trip the supply.
Hook-ups are live between 6:30am and 11:30pm. They switch off overnight.
We have hot showers, flushing toilets, washing-up areas, a motorhome service point and electric hook-ups across the site.
There's an on-site bar and food offering (The Gin Tin) open from 5pm, and daytime food and drinks available from The Ship Ashore. We sell basic supplies, fire logs and ice on site.
All facilities run on our off-grid solar-hybrid power system.
Mobile signal varies — most major networks have reasonable coverage, though it can be patchy in places. There is no on-site WiFi. This is intentional.
The site is deliberately off-grid and low-tech, and part of the experience is switching off a bit. If you need reliable connectivity, a mobile data booster or local SIM may help.
Dogs & kids
Yes, dogs are welcome across the site. Dogs are allowed on all tent pitches, tourer pitches and in our bell tents (a small charge applies). Dogs are not permitted in the glamping pods.
Maximum two dogs per pitch. Dogs must be kept on leads in all areas of the site and must not be left unattended.
Yes. We have a dedicated family pitch area and the site is well-suited to families with children of all ages. The site is open and spacious, with no busy roads nearby.
There is also a quieter adult-only pitch area for those who prefer a calmer atmosphere. Children under 5 stay free on standard pitches.

Some sat-navs using postcode NE66 3NU route through the Springfield estate in Longhoughton, which is a residential area and not the correct approach.
We recommend using What3Words: /// quote.ooze.spoke for the entrance gate, or following the brown tourist signs from the B1340 coast road.
If in doubt, email us before you set off and we can send detailed directions.
